Rocateq Shopping Trolley Retention Systems (STD & OCS)

The Rocateq shopping trolley retention systems are designed to prevent shoppers from taking shopping trolleys beyond a designated perimeter area of the parking lot. The systems are comprised of a Rocateq caster/wheel attached to the front end of the shopping trolley. Once the shopping trolley crosses the designated area a radio signal transmitted by our antenna cables activates a rotary damper in the caster that acts as a brake for the wheel. Unlike other systems, our patented Rocateq caster does not come to a “hard stop” but rather a very aggressive braking resistance like the ABS braking in a car. This feature greatly alleviates the annoyance level for the shopper and it prevents flat spots on the wheels.

Rocateq Check Out Protection System (COP)

Rocateq’s Check Out Protection (COP) system prevents shoplifters from exiting the store with unpaid merchandise in a shopping trolley. When a shoplifter attempts to exit the store without passing through an attended checkout, the entrance/exit transmitter will signal the COP caster to immobilize the shopping trolley at the door. An alarm signal is sent to designated store personnel, who will respond to the call accordingly. This signal can be audible or silent, and it can be transmitted via a mobile device, such as a smart phone. The COP system does not call for security tags to be attached to merchandise, thereby eliminating a traditionally expensive loss prevention cost. Due to the enormous losses incurred by stores each year from shoplifting, the purchase of a COP system will pay for itself many times over in a single year.
